The president of Fundació Deixalles, José Falcó, and the General Director of TIRME, Rafael Guinea, have renewed the agreement that has been regulating the collaboration between both entities for the last 19 years. It is a cooperation project that constitutes a reference at the state level of good practices in the field of social responsibility and labor insertion.

The event was attended by the Vice President of the Consell de Mallorca and Minister of Sustainability and Environment, Aurora Ribot.

The results of this long collaboration are very relevant since they have allowed the incorporation into the labor market of more than 1000 people. Currently, thanks to this project, 56 people work in the facilities of the public service managed by TIRME, 29 of them with insertion contracts. In addition, 31 per cent of insertion jobs are held by women.

The workers who join the Fundació Deixalles develop different activities related to the treatment of waste in the facilities managed by TIRME, specifically, they carry out the selection and cleaning service in the packaging selection plant.

Within the framework of the collaboration that both entities have with the Incorpora Program of La Caixa and Ecoembalajes España, through the project 'Recycling to Change Lives', this year has continued to bet on the training of new operators. During the current year 2021, five people completed the course and three of them were hired.

In the renewal of the agreement, special emphasis has been placed on improving, if possible, the measures of prevention of occupational risks for these groups. Another new aspect of the new agreement is that both institutions (Fundació Deixalles and TIRME) have committed to intensify their collaboration in communication and environmental education.

In this way, TIRME's commitment to the promotion of green employment is maintained, within its strategy based on a circular economy that prioritizes aspects related to the social sustainability of its activity.
