Come and visit us

The Centre for Environmental Information and Education (CIEA in its Spanish initials) welcomes everyone interested in learning at first-hand about the island’s urban waste management system, which is based on reducing and reusing all waste in order to make Mallorca a sustainable and circular island.

The visits are free-of-charge and are open to schoolchildren, university students, associations and citizens in general in order to raise social awareness in matters of urban waste.

A minimum of twenty people is required to form a group (individual visitors or smaller groups can be included in a pre-arranged visit. Those interested should telephone beforehand to check availability).

Educational visits

These visits are designed for junior and senior school pupils and are focused on the concept of the circular economy. In the case of junior school visits, we highlight issues such as reduction and reuse, as well as the importance of sorting each waste type in its corresponding bin. The tour of the various areas of the Centre for Environmental Information and Education (CIEA in its Spanish initials) provides an insight into several examples of circularity. The toy museum and train ride around the facilities round off this experience. Senior school pupils are also shown around the energy recovery plant.

Institutional visits

Visits by delegations from around the world who are interested in the island's waste management system and its application. The groups are taken on a technical tour of the various facilities in the Environmental Technologies Park (PTAM in its Spanish initials).
